Two Top 10 Permian Basin Operators Deploy Asset-Wide Continuous Methane Monitoring with LongPath Technologies®

This large-scale implementation represents one of the most significant expansions of continuous monitoring in the region, leveraging LongPath’s laser-based network to deliver real-time detection, quantification, and alerts. 

By integrating continuous monitoring with existing LDAR programs, operators gain 24/7 visibility into emissions, enabling faster response, improved operational efficiency, and stronger alignment with regulatory and sustainability goals. 

LongPath Technologies has received the first disbursement from its $162 million U.S. Department of Energy loan, accelerating the expansion of its continuous methane monitoring network across major oil and gas regions. 

The funding supports rapid deployment of LongPath’s long-range, laser-based system, with coverage expected to reach 2.4 million acres by mid-2026. This milestone advances infrastructure-scale visibility for operators, enabling real-time emissions detection, improved operational efficiency, and stronger energy system reliability.
