What is Colorado Regulation 7 and who does it apply to?
Regulation 7 is the state of Colorado’s rules around control of emissions from Oil and Gas operations, and includes leak detection and repair standards for Oil and Gas operators in Colorado. These rules apply to both new and existing sources. LongPath is approved as an Alternative Approved Instrument Monitoring Method (AIMM) under Regulation 7.
What is an Alternative AIMM and how does it work?
Alternative AIMMs are approved methods for emissions monitoring that replace manual inspections. LongPath meets Reg. 7 Part B, Sections I & II STEM and LDAR AIMM requirements with 24/7 continuous monitoring.
Can LongPath replace AVO and OGI in Colorado?
Yes. LongPath’s technology is approved to replace both monthly AVO and quarterly OGI inspections required by the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission (AQCC) Regulation 7 Part B, Section I & II STEM and LDAR.
Does Colorado still require periodic inspections if I use continuous monitoring?
No. If you use an approved Alternative AIMM like LongPath, you satisfy Reg. 7 Part B, Sections I & II STEM and LDAR inspection requirements without separate periodic checks. (However, there may be separate periodic checks operators are still required to do outside of the STEM and LDAR requirements.)
